Digital printing is big business and a large growth market. A new type of piezo printhead design not only reduces power consumption by more than 50%, but also increases efficiency.
Xaar is a UK company specialising in inkjet technology for industrial printers. "We work on piezoelectric inkjet printheads based on the shear mode shared wall actuator principle," says Dr Jürgen Brünahl, who is a microfabrication technology specialist at Xaar.
